There were found dead corpses of the people who had disappeared after detention held for the purpose of identity check

In the material of the "Memorial" Human Rights Centre "Chechnya: missing at the filtration" it was stated that on the 13 of January, 2000, at the check point at the village of Duba - Urt four inhabitants of Shatoysky region were detained:

1. Arsanukaev Visit Vakhidovich, born in 1964
2. Del'mukhanov Said-Mohammed Said-Rakhmanovich, born in 1956
3. Didaev Khusein Adamovich, born in 1967
4. Titaev Vakha Alievich, born in 1961

All of them were staying at the villages of Chiri-Urt and Novye Atague, as forced migrants. On January 13 and 14 the Federal command gave a "corridor" for the escape of the refugees from Shatoysky region. According to an arrangement with the personnel of the block-post, on that day they were sent on two lorries (GAS-66 and ZIL - 130) to mountain villages, from where they intended to take their families and property.

In spite of the arrangements they were detained at the check point on the way to Duba-Urt by military men, supposedly, from 276-th motorised regiment (the Urals military district) - "for checking documents for lorries by the computer"- and taken to the head quarters of general Shamanov. There the detained ones were kept for some time in the basement of the cafe "Chokhar", and their further fate is unknown.

The wife of Del'mukhanov S-M. S-R. - Del'mukhanova Taisa, the wife of Arsanukaev V.V. - Musaeva Kameta, the wife of Didaev X.A. - Didaeva Zura, and the wife of Titaev V.A. submitted applications for the search of the missing ones to official authorities:

1. to the vice-premier of the Government of the RF, authorised representative of the Government of Russian in the Republic of Chechnya - N. Koshman,
2. to the charge de affair de Procurator of the Chechen Republic, V.P. Kravchenko,
3. to the charge de affair of the chief of the temporary administration of Chechnya - Muslatov Khasan,
4. to the chief of administration of the Shalinsky region - Alikhadjiev Sharip,
5. to the military commandant of the town of Shali, Bespalov,
6. Pyzhinkov, chief of Shalinsky Federal Security Service
7. military procurator of the town of Shali - Ivanov,
8. as well as to the Chairman of the Public Commission for missing persons, Shamsudinov Buvaisar.

The relatives have not received any answer from the official authorities.

On May 10, local residents found the bodies of three men, which had traces of tortures (noses, ears were cut in all of them, traces of wire were left at the necks) at the cemetery of the village of Tangi-Chu. The bodies were buried at the cemetery.

The relatives of those who disappeared on January 13, who arrived in several days, could recognise personal belongings, belonging to Arsanukaev Visite, Titaev Vakha and Delmukhanov Said-Mohammed.

Until now nothing is known about the fate of Kh. Didaev, also detained at the block - post of the village of Duba-Urt and taken together with the killed ones.

It is possible to point out that 160-th tank regiment, which was commanded by colonel Budanov, later on arrested for accusation in kidnapping, raping and killing of a girl in December 1999 - January 2000, was staying at Duba-Urt, from where it was re-located to the region of Tangi-Chu
