The killing of Russian family in Chechnya

In spite of the fact that HRC Memorial suspended its work in Chechnya, we still receive information about human rights violations in the republic.

In the night of August 17, 2009 in the village of Pervomayskaya (Chechnya) the family of Kalinichenko was killed. Unidentified people killed the hostess of the house, 1940, her son Aleksey, 1973, Aleksey's wife, son-in-law Dmitry and a guest.

All of them were killed with firearms, possibly with silencer because the neighbors didn't hear shots.

The bodies were discovered in the afternoon of August 17. Aleksey's two children are under three years old. The reason of the killings is unknown. The family lived quietly, did not bother anybody. Dmitry was known as a good electrical equipment repairman. Other members of the family were civilians.
