Dagestan. Meeting of the relatives of abducted Sirajudin Shafiev

On September 8, 2009, around 4 p.m., relatives of Sirajudin Shafiev who was abducted that day in Derbent (Dagestan) organized a meeting. Around 150 people gathered for the meeting and tried to block a road near the North post.

Around 5 p.m. officers of local special police squad arrived and used batons to disperse them. Young men who came to the meeting suffered the most.    

Relatives of Shafiev provided HRC Memorial with a photo of Mr. Shafiev being abducted.
