Kadyrov v. Orlov and Memorial HRC: Date Set for First Hearing

Today, on September 10, 2009, Oleg Orlov attended a preliminary hearing in a suit brought by Ramzan Kadyrov against Mr. Orlov and Memorial Human Rights Center. The hearing took place at the Tverskoy district court of Moscow.

Judge Tatyana Fedosova presided; the claimant was represented by Advocate Andrey Krasnenkov;  respondent Oleg Orlov was represented by his advocate Anna Stavizkaya. Representatives of HRC Memorial Anna Karetnikova and Sergey Davidis also took part in the hearing. Respondents submitted their pleadings to the judge.

The first hearing of the court on the merits of the suit will take place on September 25, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Tverskoy district court. The hearing will be open to the public.
