The illegal force actions of Cossacks are not only directed against Turks,
and not only at Krasnodarski Krai. So, large-scale beating of Armenians
took place at Krasnodarski Krai: on September 12, 1992 in Anapa, on September
17, 1992 at Krasnodar airport, on October 3, 1992 in Armavir, on November
17, 1992 in Timashevsk town, on June 25–26, 1993 in Anapa town and Anapa
district, on March 30, 1994 in village Elizavetinskaya of Prikubansky district,
Krasnodar city. In the beginning of July, 1994 the Cossack meeting in settlement
Krasny Kut of Veselovsky district, Rostov region took a decision on expelling
Meskheti Turks, and 21 Turkish families had to leave the settlement provisionally
[Severny Kavkaz, July 9, 1994]. In August–September 1995 in village Sovietskaya
of Novopavlovsk (former Kirovsk) district of Stavropol Krai after numerous
threats at the address of Meskheti Turks on the part of Cossacks, self-made
explosive devices were thrown to 12 Turkish houses [See Nezavisimaya Gazeta,
November 2, 1995]. The said fact was also confirmed in the letter of the
deputy public prosecutor of Stavropol Krai sent to the Human Rights Commission
attached to the President of the Russian Federation in December 1995.
