Born 1893, St. Petersburg; died 1967, Moscow.
Studied at Stieglitz School of Technical Draughtsmanship and art studios under Dmitry Kardovsky, Mstislav Dobuzhinsky and Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin (1912-1917). In 1922 moved to Moscow. From 1923, a stage designer at the Art Theatre, Konstantin Stanislavsky's Opera Studio (in co-operation with Martiros Saryan), etc. Was indulged in book design and illustration; consulting designer for Bolshaya Sovietskaya Entsiklopedia Publishing House (1934-1937). In December 1937 was persecuted as a member of family of "a traitor to the Motherland". The Special panel [OSO] of NKVD gave her eight years in camp plus disenfranchisement; she served in Karlag (Dolinka). Was employed as a decorator at the Ministry of Interior Affairs Political Department central club (1937-1946). Made set and costume designs for productions of plays by Alexander Ostrovsky, Maxim Gorky, Moliere, a.o., totally fifteen performances. In 1945 was released ahead of time. In 1947 occupied a post of stage designer at Vladimir Region Drama Theatre.
