Born 1902, Byelorussia; died 1961, Minsk.
In 1935 he was persecuted in Minsk and sentenced to ten years in camp plus five more of disenfranchisement. He served in Magadanlag together with the artists Isaac Sherman (see), Vasily and Vera Shukhaev (see), Valentin Antoshchenko-Olenev (see), a.o. In camp and exile he concentrated upon small sculpture, executed moulded decoration for the Palace of Trade-Unions (1950), author of decorative sculpture for health-resorts in the neighbourhood. In co-operation with architect Mashkovsky he made decorations for the Palace of Sport and in co-operation with Leonid Vegener (see) produced settings for the Magadan Theatre of Music and Drama named after Maxim Gorky. Left Magadan in 1958 or 1959.
